I get the past was bad - but it begs the question - what is the current dem mayor doing to fix things?
I hear no one particularly likes Rahm anymore especially his performance as relates to schools.

I haven't followed it closely. What I do know is he's closed some schools which always pisses off parents. He hasn't had much success in reducing the violent death rate among black teen males. He has been successful in getting some companies to move their companies from the suburbs to the city.

A turnaround for Chicago is going to take lots of time.........its been going in the wrong direction for a while. It doesn't help that the metro economy is fairly anemic and seeing little growth.

I suspect Rahm is fairly competent but I think Chicago problems are bigger than anyone one man.
