On January 31, 2008, SB2, Inc. filed a civil action against Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. SB2, Inc. claims willful infringement by Alexion of SB2, Inc. patents. SB2, Inc. seeks, among other things, monetary damages and equitable relief.

SB2, a private company into licensing antibody patents. Headed by Fildes, Pres of Cetus before Chiron's $600mish buyout. Poor guy missed the buyout by a couple of hairs. The board kicked him out after the FDA bomb. After all the infighting he did, he needed the FDA decision and the FDA was not his friend. Then he ran two bio companies into the ground, like eating potato chips, one after another (was there a rest period?). Which in my opinion is a lil amazing because it is not that easy to kill a biotech. |
