I started using imaging software when Drive Image came out back in around 1999
Me too and I loved it. Was simple and effective. And I agree after Norton bought it it just wasn't the same any more. Acronis was good at start but later got buggy and problematic. I avoided acronis last few years/versions.

I was going to buy a copy when I saw you like it, but I changed my mind after I see more than 50% of reviews are still disappointed with the product. Too many for my taste.

Even that it works good on your system I will not take a chance. I will go with free Macrium and Paragon. Will use both and every disk image I will create with both of them, that way if one fail I will have another :)
