I did a little comparison of Norton Ghost, Paragon, & Acronis backup and restore here. It refers to an earlier 2008 comparison as well.

I only use 4 primary partitions these days, but I was playing around with more back then.

All three back up and restore programs worked just fine for me. I still have some programs on XP that go outside the OS like Paragon Partition Manager 8.5 that I must upgrade someday as the extra facilities I get outside the freebe version are worth it for me. I just cant put it on Win 7 as is. Same with Alcohol 100%. If it wasnt for programs like those I wouldn't bother with a dual boot system.

I'm just stingy about being forced to buy upgrades for all my software when the old programs work just fine.

I use a rack system for my second sata Hard Drive so its easy to swap out. I'm using a dated Startech rack system but the shock protection offered to the Hard Disks by the caddies is good. The only time I have run into trouble is when I have deleted older images instead of simply just buying an extra hard drive and a caddy. They are both very cheap these days. Sata transfer rates are remarkable. I have a stack of Hard Drives now in caddies ready for swapping.

I'm not sure if the new rack system offered by Starteck offers as much HD shock protection as the older system.

here is the old one. It has an extra fan for cooling because of all the enclosure material.

and the new one. Its more "open plan".

I thinking of building a new PC sometime of course -g-

ps: -btw-. I have found Paragon support really good in the past, just as a normal ordinary user of their products.
