I don't believe that market makers are allowed to short the stock that they are making a market on. Wouldn't that be a conflict of interest? I do agree with your statement about hedge funds and portfolio managers shorting lower price stocks. I think as I stated before that the short position here is for hedging and as Chimi said...good!!! Sergio
