I am installing a new 2 TB HD to replace a full 500 GB disk and have a couple of questions:

What is the most efficient way to transfer the data (all photographs) from the old to the new? I use Acronis to image my system drive, but I don't want its unique file structure on my photo working disk. And I use Microsoft's relatively slow SyncToy for incremental photo disk backups.

The new disk will be my photo working disk. Will it be more effective as a single partition or are there benefits to multiple partitions on a disk of that size?

Thanks for any suggestions.
John
