CNBC has been spinning INCT with positive analysts' comments all morning, FWIW

I think you are right. The analyst call today (ABN AMBRO)was actually very very negative on INTC. CNBC actually brought on someone who was bullish. In addition, we saw plenty of asset managers pushing Intel as a good tech play.
At least the ABN Ambro analyst should have been brought on as a guest.

I will just go back to that post I made this morning about how AMAT and NVLS had priced in short term negative news on the sector and was a signal to traders to cover and/or go long. The risk today was being short and nimble traders took advantage of the situation. That is how I traded the sector today..about to unload my daytrade longs but keeping my position longs on the large caps in technology.

I would note that IBM also had lots of negative comments and analysts have been pricing in a lot of negatives into the stock. IMHO, the weakness in SUNW's business is a sign that IBM may be kicking butt. I am going to look for weakness in IBM tomorrow and try to do a few long daytrades on it. Again, my reason would be the lots of negative comments on it lately. If they guide lower for next quarter, it won't be a suprise but if they confirm guidance, there is definately upside to the stock. That is reason for expecting it to rise ahead of earnings. Of course if it does really well, might be a good idea to buy some cheap July puts in the last hour tomorrow.<g>
