Thats the kind you need and will usually have no problems updating drivers. The problem is with brand name computers, mainly notebooks, the manufactures don't like you to download anything but their unauthorized ones.

With my Toshiba computers, there is a Toshiba program installed that alerts you when new updated drivers and BIOS updates are available. Even when your computer is off warranty.
