the icon on the taskbar turns yellow to alert you. Sometimes it turns yellow a day before I get my update(s).

That is what happens on my lap top, but the icon on my desk top is hidden and the only reason I know it is disabled is that it turns red. I've never seen it turn yellow.

Even when XP is off support from MS, you can still use the computer, MSSE will still give you updates, you just won't get any other operating system updates from MS.

Cool...............I'll continue to use XP until I buy a new desk top............which could be soon as this older one really is fussy. (I think I could just add more memory, but I'd need to have more information, and I don't work on computers but leave that to the experts.)
