i gave myself a new flat screen TV for Christmas. Since I'm not even close to being a techie, I can't figure out how to hook up my existing VCR/DVD player/recorder. I've tried to follow the instructions but details elude me and I can't get it to work.

I have several instructional DVD and tapes that I would really like to continue using. Do I need to hire someone to come in and hook this up? Is there a SIMPLE new player out there that I can just plug in and have it work? I'd buy something new if it was a very simple hook up.

Ideas appreciated.... and MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone!
