If you think about the Reagan assassination attempt, there was this immense focus on making sure people knew we had a president. After JFK was killed, they actually swore LBJ in twice -- once publicly -- to be sure everyone understood the United States was never without a president. Today, we have no president. And even liberals are starting to see it. They're still supporters, of course, because they always will be. But they can see the country is drifting hopelessly. While you have to believe they'll get slaughtered in November, one can only hope they can see that a Clinton presidency will serve to further the disaster.
