I agree but it is not impossible. If it tapes out Jan 1, they will have first silicon before the end of Jan. IF it is a stressable/shipable design on first pass,a June launch would certainly be possible. Assuming one additional design pass,an Aug/Sept/Oct launch would seem more probable. This would depend on how extensive the redesign, what the redesign involves (only BEOL? or FEOL and BEOL) and how many (if any) risk starts Intel is willing to make. Given all these unknowns, including AMD's response, I would stick with
Intel's original schedule which I think is Oct?? (4th qtr 2000)
