U.S. Equity Preview: Cabletron, DoubleClick, RadiSys, Vixel

New York, Dec. 20 (Bloomberg) -- The following is a list of
companies whose shares may move in U.S. markets Tuesday, Dec. 21.
U.S. Equity Preview includes news that broke after the markets
closed. Monday's closing prices are included. The stock symbol is
in parentheses after the company name.

American Retirement Corp. (ACR): The operator of senior
living communities warned it expects a fourth-quarter loss of
35 cents to 39 cents a share and pretax charges of up to
$13 million. The company plans to buy back up to $1.5 million in
stock. American Retirement fell 1/16 to 6 1/8.

Cabletron Systems Inc. (CS): The maker of computer-
networking equipment that's lost sales to Cisco Systems Inc. said
its fiscal third-quarter net income was 14 cents a share for the
period ended Nov. 30, beating estimates of 10 cents made by
analysts polled by First Call/Thomson Financial. Cabletron rose
1 1/4 to 27 1/4.

CSX Corp. (CSX): The third-largest U.S. railroad warned that
its fourth-quarter earnings will be ''significantly below''
expectations. The company cited weak results at its sea-land unit
and expects fourth-quarter earnings to be 18 cents to 24 cents a
share before items. CSX fell 3/4 to 34 1/4.

DoubleClick Inc. (DCLK): The seller of advertising space on
Internet sites said it plans to split its stock 2 for 1 for
shareholders of record on Dec. 31, payable on Jan. 10.
DoubleClick fell 3 9/16 to 201 3/8.

Express Scripts Inc. (ESRX): The largest independent U.S.
pharmacy-benefits manager said it will invest $14 million in
PlanetRX.com (PLRX) to market the online retailer of prescription
drugs, vitamins and health supplies to its subscribers. Express
Scripts fell 1 7/8 to 57 1/2.

Portal Software Inc. (PRSF): The company, which makes
software that allows Internet companies to bill their customers,
said it will spilt its stock 2 for 1 for shareholders of record
on Dec. 31. Portal Software rose 1 to 109 1/2.

Pharmaceutical Product Development Inc. (PPDI): The manager
of drug trials for pharmaceutical companies said it will keep the
rights to develop dapoxetine, a genitourinary compound licensed
from Eli Lilly & co. (LLY). PPD was unchanged at 12.

RadiSys Corp. (RSYS): The company, whose computer systems
power everything from bar-code scanners to ATMs, said it will buy
part of International Business Machines Corp.'s (IBM) open-
computing unit for at least $13 million in cash. RadiSys rose
2 3/4 to 49.

Vixel Corp. (VIXL): The networking company said its fourth-
quarter loss narrowed to 26 cents a share compared with a loss of
30 cents a year earlier. Vixel fell 1/4 to 30 3/4.
