Big Bucks: I have not heard of a single linear company make plans for a 12" facility. This includes ADI,NSM,LLTC. Many of them are just now making the transition from 4" to 6",let alone 12". For their CMOS linear parts they are using foundries (TSMC,Chartered). For these parts the low prices (undreamed of a few years ago) are helping them tremendously. The bicmos and bipolar processes are very cost effective on the smaller lines. As Cary noted the Margins they are achieving indicates a very strong market acceptance of their pricing and product performance.

My 2 cents,
david
