China Court Backs Internet Phone Entrepreneurs Friday January 22 3:33 AM ET BEIJING (Reuters) - In a landmark China case, a court ruled that a firm offering cheap international calls through the Internet did not violate the country's state-run telecom monopoly, the China Daily said on Thursday. The Fuzhou court also stipulated that international calls made through IP were technologically different from conventional overseas calls. Industry analysts have said the case had broad implications for state control over the Internet in China.
