In talking with both Westell and Microsoft on this, my opinion is that this is a very early relationship with a lot of thinking to be established as to what will actually come of it. I think it will be some time until something does come of it, but I do not believe that they would do anything with any other vendor, because they really don't need to at this stage. They want to understand ADSL, and Westell does both CAP and DMT, so they can cover both bases with that vendor. You ALWAYS want to be the one in early with someone like Microsoft, and the comments in this forum about how this does not mean much I would really disagree with. But it will not impact any products anytime soon.
Now, to get a handle on how these might work together, Sal did a good job in a BYTE magazine article in the April issue entitled Marrying ISDN to the OS, on Page 185. Look for ADSL to follow the same path.-db
