Yes, I did.

My point is, the numbers they show on the "Faster than PentiumII" page show integer test results. By themselves, they don't mean a lot. Other tests show how fast the FPU in the G3 is, which is impressive.

I kind of forget what we were arguing about. I think originally you said "Macs are at least twice as fast as the PII", which is true in some limited cases, but certainly not true in others.

Yes, the design used in the io subsystems is superior in the macintosh. This is due to the fact that they can create custom asics and make the OS machine specific to some extent.

I can accept that. I also agree about the optimizing the bus speed thing. I think the 100Mhz PC bus will help out a lot, but PC operating systems will always be limited because they have to run on a lot of different hardware.
