Just a follow up to our conversation of 2 weeks ago--

Those 14 most shorted/ highest beta/ lowest price stocks in the S&P which Markman believes will double or triple in price between 11 Oct and the end of January because mutual fund managers tied to the S&P index MUST buy them to equtize their indexed ports have done rather well--

Overall they are up 60% in just under 4 weeks --I bought what i hoped would be the best half but that was a mistake as, rather impressively, there are no laggards--all 14 are up --worst is AES up 38%, best is SLR up 129%--
as they increase in value the chances of them being booted from S&P would seem to be nil

It may be worthwhile watching the worst 14 next October, as this phenomenon must repeat with these mutual funds
