regulating an industry is different than mandating the service and mandating that individuals buy the service (either directly or indirectly through taxes).

The intent of putting the commerce clause in the constitution was to ensure that interstate commerce is not impeded by state laws. Instead, congress has meddled in the industry and caused the problems that they are now proposing to fix by the hijacking of the healthcare industry.

The healthcare bill isn't some altruistic action by the democrats, it is a method for saving bankrupt unions and government programs such as social security.

The healthcare bill isn't wanted and it isn't needed. What we need is the government to stop meddling in business.
