Ski, is Rose Hulman really in Indiana? I have been around Terre Haute a bit and don't remember seeing it, maybe i mistook it for a hospital with a name like that. Sorry, only kidding, after all i went to a school with a name that people associate with chicken (Purdue Univ. vs Perdue chicken). I grew up in Evanspatch, I mean Evansville. Four years ago i had my resume distributed nationally to contract engineering placement firms so i get calls from all over the US. Pretty normal for contractor's in today's market to get lots of calls due to the shortage of engineers, and we are talking a major shortage especially in software. Actually the number of calls i get is going down since i now tell everyone that i am only interested in working in the Boston area and to only call me every 3 months or so to keep updated on my current status. Back to S3. If i remember correctly, S3 was a startup by some guys from CHPS and a very successful one. It is very common these days for talented and aggressive people to leave established firms for the allure of startups and the possibility of hitting it big if the startup goes public. There is a lot of money out there looking for some place to invest in this PC and Internet fueled upturn and it is a great time for people with vision and drive to find backing. So what if the CFO left, there are other just as talented CFO's out there that just might fit the bill. And if not, the guy that is sitting in can probably do the job just fine.
