I would guess they are made on AMD's .25 process which was modified again late this year. (That's how the higher MHz K6-xs were able to run on a lower voltage compared to ones made earlier in the year.) Also, it wouldn't make sense to make the K6-2 on the .18 process if the K6-2+ (which will probably be made on the .18 process because of its die size increasing and on-chip cache) will come out soon after.
