Internet / e-commerce question concerning mortgages - SMI works with some large scale mortgage loans - Few but huge contracts - Internet e-commerce presence is in no way interesting for such biz.

At all e-commerce is the next century replacement of mail-order catalogs and classified ads - So when assessing any e-commerce play, think about if their products/services ever sold via mail-order - if not then forget about it as a long term investment, as the company will just be burning money on the internet-gig, thus using money from normal PR resource thus actually ending up loose marketshares. On top of that - many consumers previous buying via mail-order will still be able to buy at same old well known source - those who provided mail-order has started or is about to start e-commerce too.
Another very good way of assessing e-comerce is to put yourself in the buyers place, and think about if you would buy the product this way.
There will be amazingly few products left when thinking this way.

However the web presence is a company face to the public, and I do agree that Southerngroup / Life1 web-site does not look good as such.
It is obvious that it is there, only to provide us investors with basic knowledge of their companies and PR history. I am trying to get in e-touch (new fabulous way created by Spielberg <G>) with their webmaster in order to set up a LONE investors web-info-site.
