It is mathematical and like most of these types of "tricks", you are actually led to the solution. For instance, ANY number multiplied by nine will yield a number that if you take the sum of those number will ALWAYS equal 9. Therefore, 9 will ALWAYS be the answer regardless of what number (1 through 10) you picked: 9 X 8 = 72 7+2 = 9 9 x 6 = 54 5+4= 9 9 X 3764 = 33876 3+3+8+7+6= 27 2+7= 9 Moving on, you then are to subtract 5 which given the previous, will ALWAYS be 4 which will ALWAYS be associated with the letter "D". How many other countries can you even think of that start with the letter "D"... The rest is fairly obvious as well IMHO.... ;) Theo;-)
