As I have posted here repeatedly, I agree that some of the criticism is overblown. But the fact that some criticism is illigitimate doesn't doesn't make the proposal a good one. I wish the other side would make legitimate criticisms instead of engaging in outrageous hype.

Couldn't agree more.

I was thinking how this thing was aligning politically/economically. Could it be that the doctors/drug companies are throwing the insurance companies "under the bus" (hate that phrase). You have what seems like 100% support from the drug/doctor lobbies, and though the insurance companies have given up pre-existing conditions and at least some control of cancellations they are being made out as the villain.

In politics there are always winners and losers. No love lost between doctors and insurance companies. Both doctors and drug companies stand to pick up new customers... insurance companies not so if there is a public option.

Just thinking out loud... not necessarily what I want to happen but just thinking what might be happening behind the scenes.

One thing Obama is not is a weak politician.
