U.S. Army Awards $1.4 Million Contract to TVI Corporation for Chemical and Biological Protection Systems Thursday September 30, 9:00 am ET 
  GLENN DALE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 30, 2004--TVI Corporation (NASDAQ:TVIN - News), a global supplier of equipment for first responders, military, and public health agencies for use in response to WMD and terrorist threats, today announced that the United States Army has awarded TVI a $1.4 million contract for the TVI Guardian Col/Pro(TM) system. These systems will provide U.S. Army bases with increased protection against chemical and biological threats.  In the event of a chemical or biological attack, military personnel will be protected by quickly deploying and entering the shelters. The systems can also be utilized to isolate individuals that have been exposed to life threatening agents and help prevent the spread of contamination. 
  The systems include both a new TVI environmental control unit that incorporates HEPA and TEDA carbon filters and specialized rapid deploy shelters that incorporate pressure differential monitors and entry airlocks.
