I think you are correct, but have you checked CPU prices lately?
Someone posted on the CYRX thread that a computer manufacturer
in Taiwan will be manufacturing a $350 system (no monitor). 1 year ago similar technology would have cost $1500-2000. I guess the
rational is "less chips+same functionality = less cost, therefore less
profit margin!" If this is true then the expensive CPU manufacturers will be hurt soon due to decreasing margins and volume sales by
inexpensive competitors.
