Exactly... 'a stock will follow a pattern ... in the short run'. Sometimes too short to be useful. For example, the basing pattern LGND set up on Fri & Mon, fell apart today (Tues, 9-30). It seems that the 'news' is over- whelming any technicals in LGND for now.
