okay, edit. I just read the posts on various threads regarding student loans and get it now. Whereas the govt used to do more direct lending, the loan sharks have gotten their greedy mitts into the act (no doubt with scams to bump initial low rates along the way. As the gal on saturday night live says, "oh brother."
