David,

My ISP has seen a influx of AOL folks recently. I don't know how many they have signed up but I know if I were getting constant busy signals I would leave them.
I can understand (though I think it's rude too) people on AOL setting their email to autocheck because they (and most ISP's) will disconnect you for inactivity.
Then you have to play the game all over.
As for driving a lot of smaller ISP's into oblivion, I have been thinking the same thing since their unlimited deal came about. But if my local small ISP is any indication this is not happening too quickly. I hardly ever pay for internet use as I sign people up to my ISP and get free months all the time.
But this could change! I just found out that my ISP is taking the ROK/LU road even though they use Couriers for dial in access. But they are using Livingston portmaster for digital access. I use ISDN but want to see x2 work so I can compare it to ISDN, but there is no way you can convince my son to give up his beloved courier for ?? He has compared a number of 33.6 modems of his friends and none of them come close to getting 33.6 connections as the courier.
Also his 33.6 sportster (my modem before ISDN) does not match the courier in 33.6 connections.
I'm gonna start my search for a new ISP in Utah that offers ISDN and x2. But I just heard that US Worst id going to drop their ISDN prices. $70 per month for unlmited use. Don't know the measured rates yet.
