papaya, i can't argue w/ your points. the motivation is easy to see. the refs were for the lakers - no doubt. but, even worse, so were the blazers -ng- missing 13 straight in the 4th quarter of the conference final's game 7? OUCH!

i think all refs stink. the nfl refs are horrible. i still feel that tampa bay was straight robbed when they overturned the catch around la's 15 yard line. my friend tried to tell me the rules state that you can't land on the ball after clearly catching it with two hands and you never lose control. i can't believe the rules are so dumb. so, i blame the refs.

anyway, i was rooting for miami and portland. to see them lose is such horrible style is sad. hopefully they learn from it. poor scottie. he can't shake the jordan coat tails for anything ;-)
