It would certainly be great fun to hear what was actually going on within these Bush and Gore meetings. It is certainly likely that the Bush camp discussed that the fact that any handcount would likely go against them. It would be great fun to hear how they then planned to block the handcount.

If Bush succeeds then we will have four years of discussion about how the Bush spin succeeded in blocking votes from getting counted. And certainly since Bush is fully aware of this game - there will be a taint of dishonesty clouding the office.

Of course, if Gore wins, the right wing conservatives will argue that he stole the election by blocking the military vote or whatever.

This is the problem with an election that is a statistical tie. There is too much noise relative to the difference between candidates, so one side can always point to aspects of the election that lost them votes unfairly.

I still think they should flip a coin.
