On the other hand, since Doren is not the person who originally purchased the software from Apple, is it really their responsibility to fix installation problems with it, a year and half after the original customer bought it?

It is possible and valid to sell the software and pass the license to the next user and Apple should honor the holder of a valid license regardless of who presents with it. If it was a Panther disk I would think different.

I'm passing a valid license of Tiger with my Powerbook G4 when I replace it with the new Macbook Pro I'm buying soon. If the disk doesn't work Apple should help the user install it as it is a valid copy not used on any machine other than the one it is being sold with.
