George, Do you think there will be a time in the future (say 30 years) when computing power and bandwidth will be so great that highly accurate realtime 3D representations of our world (similar to views in the game Myst) could be created in a public cyberspace on the internet, from various sources of networked data input devices such as satellite sensors/new radartype cameras etc..overlayed on super detailed more static data held in massive databases (such as the mapping of the earth's surface its composition etc... by the space shuttle), to give the ability to navigate, observe and analyze in incredible depth the realtime happenings on the planet. For example in 30 years do you think there will be a feature on the internet that would allow someone to get a realtime 3D view of the earth from a satellite perspective and zoom down anywhere on the earth's surface, say in Paris, France and see a 3D realtime view of what is going on there. If you were to guess what year this would be possible, what would you guess? 30, 50 , 100 years? Also what amount of computing power and bandwidth would have to be available for this to become a reality?

I know this is kind of a far out question, but since you are a brilliant futurist, I just thought I would bounce it off you.

Thanks,
JW
