"The power of ubiquitous computing is around the corner. Embedded computing is beginning to enter more and more settings: networked appliances with their own IP addresses in the home; automated factories and hospitals, monitored and controlled full-time over a network; wireless Net-based information and entertainment in the car, boat and plane; e-education; and, further out, personal local-area networks that literally reside on one’s self.
