I have never seen a worse casualty than a G.I. who stepped on one and lived. No descriptions needed. Perhaps the farmer who steps on one and survives two decades after the conflict has ended might compete. But they are the sinister weapon that protects defenders and are left like graffiti but hidden. I don't know how they're ever going to get rid of all the minefields laid in third world places by reckless combatants. Cleaning up the battlefields by the losers should be an international requirement. Losers typically wouldn't be in the position to remove them, having lost. Human rights organizations usually want the responsibility of those that put them there to be the ones the remove them. jttmab
