Hi Speedy, I posted this last night on my new "gloom and doom thoughts" regarding when we will know the market has bottomed. Message 15481851 I posted back in April that I thought the market would bottom when the public became disgusted with the stock market. Now I'm just trying come up with a definition for the word "disgusted" in this case. The good news out of all of this is that we have now trained two generations of US Citizens on the concepts of the Price-to-Earnings ratio, and the earnings growth to PE ratio. Hey ! Have you been tracking GOLD ? I figured out of all people on SI, you would, lol. All this talk about enormous consumer and business debt, Japan going down the tubes (again !) and the obvious affects of rapid rate cuts on the exchange rate of the dollar ..... I dunno, it's all starting to move into the "this can't possibly happen" realm. I'm definitely not an "end-of-the-world" believer. But then again, I was sort of expecting a soft landing. Tech stocks are also very close to where I thought they would bottom ... but they don't appear to have bottomed yet. Rats. quote.yahoo.com Chris
