Elmer, I understand, It makes sense to do it that way and if indeed it is an upper layer flaw=easy fix. As for follow on steppings, again I expect the parts to evolve as they optimize them. Still I wonder how many of the dells boxes craoked? is it a situation where every box will craok from time to time or will it be limited to a few and the rest will never croak?.
I expect this is the true reason for the shortage we are seeing. They loosened that spec a bit too much to up the yield and got bit.
