I think you covered the essentials. Your first post indicated much less culpability. I personally feel he is guilty of many other corrupt activities.

Again, you make legitimate points when you talk of political corruption in the course of our history. And you may be right when you say that many people are jaded about our politicians. But that is part of the problem.

I believe that individuals as well as a population of people tend to get what they expect. Extreme cynicism is much more dangerous than naivete because it saps you of the will to make changes.

There certainly can be a healthy cynicism, but that should never inhibit the application of principle.
