Wave partner in WSJ re: privacy.

In today's WSJ is a letter to the editor from McGraw Hill's CEO Harold McGraw III addressing privacy concerns on the Net. He points out an interesting problem confronting US and European business leaders trying to establish privacy standards for consumers - their inherent cultural differences. Mentions the impracticability of a one-size fits all approach to the Internet. (Can you say "programmable" security, ala Embassy?)

"Customer privacy is a global issue that cannot be solved by governments creating more rules, regulations, and red tape...Technology is already allowing consumers to control access to their personal information and helping them manage their privacy preferences. As consumer use of the Internet grow, so too will this technology."

"Finally, to survive long term and be competitive in the e-commerce world, all business must adopt and vigorously enforce consumer privacy policies."

So says a man who was impressed enough by Wave's solution to this problem that he signed a content agreement with them.
