Digital Microwave Corporation Signs Partnering Agreement
Valued at Over $150 Million

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Microwave
Corporation (Nasdaq: DMIC - news), today announced that the
Company has entered into a strategic partnership sales
agreement with a major global telecommunications
infrastructure provider. The agreement includes the full
portfolio of products in Digital Microwave's extensive line
of radios and associated network management systems. The
products are used globally in developing and expanding fixed
and mobile communications networks for broadband wireless
access, cellular and other types of telecommunications
services. The non-exclusive agreement has an estimated value
of over $150 million over a three-year period. The sales
value is estimated and is not a guaranteed level, and it
could be less than or greater than the estimate. Initial
orders under the terms of this agreement were received during
the quarter ended December 31, 1999.

``This agreement marks the continuation of our business
emphasis on global partnering to enable customers to easily
purchase Digital Microwave's broad set of products,' said
Charles Kissner, Digital Microwave's Chairman and CEO.
``Through this partnership, we will significantly increase
our product exposure, particularly for broadband wireless
access solutions.'

Digital Microwave Corporation's products include the
innovative Altium(TM) broadband radio, which offers 155 Mbps
capacity in 28 MHz of spectrum. Shipping now in frequency
bands of 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 23, 26, 28, and 31 GHz, the
Altium radio is the most deployable broadband radio on the
market. The Altium 38 GHz radios will be available in the
first part of this year. Additional products include the
SPECTRUM(TM) II, XP4 and DART(TM) DS-1/E1 to DS-3/E3 radios,
which are used extensively for interconnection of base
stations in mobile networks worldwide; and the DXR(TM)
product line, which includes the DXR 700 radio with
exceptional dispersive fade margins, errorless diversity
switching and spectrally efficient QAM modulation. The
ProVision(TM) network management system provides open-
standards-based, highly scalable network management of all
Digital Microwave's radio products.
