This post is going to be off-topic as far as Nokia is concerned so skip it if you want to.

I am glad Puck has created a moderated thread for the discussion of Nokia and other wireless issues. My reasons are simple. The number of posts regarding Qualcomm were simply too many. There are at least three other threads where people can discuss Qualcomm and yet this thread attracted such a large amount of 'when will Nokia wake up and license from qcom' posts that it was difficult to discuss anything else. I honestly believe that qcom is a fine company and people that own qcom stock are fine people but I need to hear more about the other issues that affect Nokia.

If you believe that:
GSM exists,
GPRS will happen,
WCDMA will happen,
Nokia is investing heavily to profit in those markets then you should be happy that Puck's thread exists.

If you believe that:
2G CDMA is a major threat to GSM,
1X overlay will sweep the GSM market,
CDMA2000 will dominate 3G,
Nokia will cease to exist as a result of their arrogance towards qcom then you should be happy that this and all the other qcom threads exist.

Now everybody can be happy.

Best regards and good investing,
Terrapin
