FWIW, my thinking is that 31 11/16 will look like chump change a few months from now.

I agree with you. That is why I don't want to be out of AMD stock for more than few hours. Once a while, based on the stock action in the first hour after the open, I place limit orders to sell for one Dollar above the going price with an intention of buying back at a lower price by the day end. Today it backfired on me.
