Encompass Announces Industrial Contract Awards Worth More Than $20 Million


Industrial Services Business Unit Recognized for Safety, Customer Service

HOUSTON, June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Encompass Services Corporation (NYSE: ESR) announced today that it has recently been awarded new contracts worth approximately $20 million from a variety of blue-chip industrial customers.

The contracts, awarded to Encompass' Industrial Services business group, include the following projects:

-- Recommissioning of a mothballed liquefied natural gas plant for a

Fortune 100 global energy company near Savannah, Georgia. Encompass

will install five new vaporizers and fabricate and erect a stainless

steel piping system at the facility, which has been out of service for

18 years. Encompass will also rebuild the liquid gas offloading

facility on the Savannah River.

-- The fabrication and installation of a process piping system at a

polymer production and compounding facility for Ticona in Shelby,

North Carolina.

-- Five mechanical and electrical systems construction and installation

projects at Dow Chemical manufacturing facilities in Freeport, Texas.

-- Installation of structural steel, electrical systems, heating,

ventilation, air conditioning, and piping for Newport News

Shipbuilding in Newport News, Virginia.

-- Replacement of a chilled water system at a Fortune 500 company

manufacturing facility in Virginia.

-- Installation of machinery and process piping for candy bar

manufacturing lines at a Fortune 500 company manufacturing facility in

Virginia.

"These awards, from long-term, valuable customers in a variety of industries, are an excellent illustration of the diversity of our operations," said Joe Ivey, Encompass president and chief executive officer. "This diversity of our business mix continues to be a strength for Encompass, providing us a significant hedge against downturns in any specific end markets."

Encompass also announced that its Industrial Services group recently received two National Petrochemical & Refiners Association Meritorious Safety Performance Awards from Valero Refining Company and Tosco Refining Company, as well as the Distinguished Supplier Award from Milliken and Company, a leading international textile and chemical firm.
