Thanks for your post Brad. One thing I can tell you is that there have been at least 10 new solid polymer battery chemistries announced over the last 12 months. One of the latest is the proton sharing rechargeable hydrogen ion solid state (RHISS)battery technology. (U.S. Patent 5,580,681 reveals the details of an inorganic solid electrolyte) The company that announced this is not public I am just giving it as an example.

Also to understand what (in my opinion) is probably going on here you may want to take a look at:

hot-stocks.com

You are better off gathering information on your own rather than relying the current posters at this thread. Read the periodicals that the buyers read to get a better picture. There are some that are on line but you are going to have to spend a little to get good information.

Here is a recent article from EET -- free at:

techweb.com

Cover Feature --
Batteries look to deliver faster recharging,
longer run-times in smaller packs
Electronic Engineering Times, January 06, 1997

The site that this appeared on contains a nice data base that is full text searchable also free.

I think the most important thing at this point is to READ the facts of the case (In re Valence) -- very similar to what is going on now. People are getting (very positive) information from the company and (this time) posting it here. As far as paying services go you may want to check out Darnell (very expensive).

I hope this helps.
