But, the fine print you cited referred to the notion that he might drop all but a few of the 15 charges. He didn't retract the statement, somewhat buried in the article, about keeping the focus of the investigation on the Lewinsky matter. You're absolutely right about one thing: take everything you read in the papers these days with a grain of salt. Hyde could have just been playing with the press.
