Virge is a great chip..it is the best combination in the video accelarators: It has excellent 2D accelaration (noboy can deny this..) because diamond stealth outmatches matox mellinium and mystque... in Zif-Davis benchmark (see diamond's site...) with latest drivers.. Virge has great mpeg and video accelaration..it ouperforms all other chips and is the same as tseng labs et6000 (a real screamer..) and ati's 3d expresion.. (ati vga have great video perfoamnce and quality with hardware video smoothing..but they aren't so good in other areas..).As for 3d accelaration ..Benchamrks show all half of the story: Virge has the most 3d capabilities...(like bi-linearing and tri-linears, fog, perspective corection, and many others..).It supports many 3d apis.Other chipsets don't have even the half 3d tricks virge has ... (mystique...).I don't know much about Vodoo and 3fx , but i know they are 3D screamers.And something else...virge perfome very well in 3d with 4mb video ram..and if you take into acount that virge can work fine as high as 80 or even 85mhz then we'll see who beats who..I have a diamond steath 3d and i have been wking it at for a long time at 70mhz and 85 mhz...And i tell you my 3d perfomance ihas increased up to 80%... Virge is the best combination of all.It combines many features and great combability.Virge gives one of the best video for the buck!
