The shorting on WCII started a year and a half ago on its initial ascent and has been ongoing until recently. You have to remember that the shorters are not fish like you and I but seasoned manipulators who hedge their shorts with index and stock(just look at the thousands of open options). "They" will not cover "their" short positions until "they" are ready to take the stock up.
