I've always thought one of the advantages of CTXS was removal of the floppy disk from client machines, thus preventing users from introducing games, viruses and incorrect versions of programs into the computer. (Of course they can still do some of this via the internet if they have access but filters and firewalls can help here.) To the extent that less harmful programs are available on UNIX, this CTXS advantage could be diluted. Total costs of ownership still should be cheaper.
