Wow, $50 would wipe out all gains including reinvesting dividends for a decade! If Coronavirus causes a huge slowdown in China, the ME may pump like hell and we'll see $26 oil and some real bargains in the sector... perhaps even XOM hitting the H&S target down another 50%... but I doubt it or hope against it... that would be too painful for too many. Your method of selling the puts for added yield makes sense, especially after all the work I just did to renew a CD for 6 months at 2.00%. But it is nice to know that no matter happens, after 6 months that CD will return all my money plus 2.00%... I still prefer to take risk with my tech stocks and REIT funds. :)
