Subject to shareholder approval and regulatory acceptance, Ghana Goldfields proposes to undertake a share consolidation on the basis of one new share for each existing 17 shares, to subsequently increase the company's authorized capital to 100 million common shares without par value, and to change the company's name from Ghana Goldfields to Icon Industries Limited. These proposals will be voted on at an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders to be held on Sept. 21, 1999.
